Course Overview
This course is developed for a deeper understanding of Special Educational Needs including an overview of the common types of Learning disabilities and disorders as well as strategies to assist students with SEN to succeed in the learning process.
The program is ideal for preschool teachers, Mainstream teachers, School Administrators, School leavers, Nurses and other medical professionals, Counselors, those aspiring to join the field of Special Education, and Parents and Caregivers of children with Special Educational Needs.
Course Detail & Modules
SEN01 – Introduction to Special Education
SEN02 – Understanding Special Educational Challenges within the classroom
SEN03 – Identify the role and responsibilities of teacher who teaches students with Special Educational Needs
SEN04 – Identify common learning disabilities, developmental disorders and physical disabilities
SEN05 – Understanding the importance of assessments, and the concept and main elements of an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
SEN06 – Understanding the concept of Specific Learning Disabilities
SEN07 – Identifying strategies to help student with Learning Disabilities and intellectual impairments
SEN08 – Understanding the concept and epidemiology of Autism
SEN09 – Strategies to help students with Autism
SEN10 – Working with Parents and caregivers of children with Special Educational Needs
Entry requirement
Pass GCE Ordinary Level (London or local) including a Credit Pass for English Language or equivalent
